She attended Lincoln High school in Dallas, Texas and later began working for the Rutherford Metropolitan Business College for 15 years, doing administrative work for a local city council woman. She then went into private home health care attending to the elderly- showcasing the love and dedication she had for helping others. Wilma later retired and became a stay-at-home caretaker for her grandchildren.
Wilma enjoyed reading the word, watching soap operas, doing crossword puzzles, listening to her favorite records, cooking, and spending time with family most of all. She had a personality that could bring light to any dark room and an essence that brought a sense of togetherness to all those around her.
Wilma was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Britton-Brewer; father, Wiley Ross; Emmett B. Thompson (dad); son, Leonard Earl Ross; brothers: Edger Brewer Jr., Isaiah Brewer, Foster Brewer, James Brewer, Curtis Brewer, Emmett Thompson Jr.; sisters, Marjorie Brewer, Charlie Mae Brookins.
She is survived by: daughter, Margaret L. Ross-Keeton; brother: Eddie Lee Thompson; sister in law: Linda Brewer; granddaughters: Deena Richards, Tisha Reed, Tromekia Keeton-Taylor (Michael); grandson: Anthony Keeton Sr.; great-grandchildren: Anthony Keeton Jr., Tazia Keeton, Ta'Nia Nickerson, Myk'Anthony Taylor, along with fourteen plus additional great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
