RONALD PORTER

January 13, 1966 — September 14, 2024

Ronald Ray Porter, 58, was born on January 13, 1966, in Port Arthur, Texas, to the late Johnny ( Jr.) and Verlean Porter Jr. He graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1984 and was a dedicated member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mell Williams Jr., where his life was shaped and molded. It was there that Ronald developed strong leadership skills, which later influenced his move to Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout his life, Ronald played for numerous churches and funeral services, sharing his musical talents with many. He held a vision of one day owning his own business, and that dream became a reality when he founded Port Productions. Through this venture, Ronald mentored and shaped the lives of many children and adults who were eager to learn music and more. Ronald continued his musical journey and completed his work at New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Reginald Jefferson. His passion for music and dedication to service left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Ronald Ray Porter is lovingly remembered by his children, Davion (Valerie) Porter of Fort Worth, Texas, Britney Porter of Port Arthur, Texas and Shalondrya Porter of Los Angeles California. He was a proud grandfather to Harmoni Porter and Davion Porter Jr. who brought him joy. He also leaves behind two brothers, Benny ( Sharon) Jones of Fort Worth Texas, Wayne ( Sharon) McCullar of Houston Texas and five sisters: Melvina Cuyler of Las Vegas, Nevada; Bridgette ( William) Deadmon, Meanor Pitre, Tonya ( Robert) Armstrong, and Veronica Jackson, all residing in Port Arthur, Texas. Close friend/former wife, Tiwanna Wilson , two uncles, Clarence Dupree, Ray Porter and one aunt Shirley Robinson remain to cherish his memory. Ronald will be dearly missed by a large extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to cousin Regina Richards for her special support, and to the many other family members and friends who have offered their love and comfort during this time.
