MARGARETT WILLIS

Margarett Francis Willis was born Margarett Francis Davis in Memphis, Texas on February 20, 1954. She was a devoted, loving, and caring mother, sister, and friend born to the late Vincent and Maebell Davis. Margarett passed away on Sunday February 18, 2024, two days before her 70th birthday. 

Margarett dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior at an early age. Margarett graduated from Memphis High School in 1973. After high school she pursed a career in Nursing working as a C.N.A. until she retired in 2006. Margarett married Ricky Lynn Willis in 1977 and to this union they had one son, Charles Tyrone Willis born in 1978. She relocated to Dallas in 1984 where she met Howard Chevis and they shared 23 years together and to this union they had a son Demarcus Joseph Chevis born in 1985. 

She loved being around family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her sisters and brothers and nieces and nephews. Margarett will be fondly remembered for her infectious smile, her unconditional love, and her kind heart. She leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but her presence will forever be felt in the hearts of family and friends.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her two children, Charles Tyrone Willis and Demarcus Chevis; siblings Dorothy Mae Williams of Childress, TX, Frank Davis of Dallas, TX, Louis Davis of Midland, TX, Virvian Hakim of Lubbock, TX, Don Davis of Wichita, KS, Patsy Ann Davis of Houston, TX. Her grandchildren, Ty’isha Simpson-Willis, Princess Nicole Willis, Daviyon Willis, Dajai Willis, and Precious Jewel Willis. A host of nieces and nephews. 

Margarett was preceded in death by her siblings Clyde Davis Sr., Charles Davis, Roy Davis, Walter Davis, and Maxine Walker.
