Mae Olla Thomas, born on September 16, 1934, in Wills Point, Texas, peacefully passed away on February 3, 2024, at 89 years old. She professed her faith early on at Wesley Chapel Baptist Church, later joining Mt Moriah Missionary Baptist Church as a watch care member.
A loving mom and devoted wife to Uzell Thomas, they raised seven children. Mae Olla, despite health challenges, led the Wesley Chapel Usher board as president for years. She worked at Malouf for many years. She also worked as a caregiver, earning respect for her professionalism and dedication.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Ola B. Smith, husband Uzell Thomas, son ML Thomas, four grandsons Trance, Isaac, Casey, Bobby Ray Jr, great grandson Reakwon, brothers Leroy Smith, Gus Smith Jr., Gene Smith, and sisters Lucy Mae Bloomer and Pauline Wright. Mae Olla leaves behind cherished memories with one sister Angeline Green, one brother Richard Lee Smith, two sister in laws Opaline Thomas and Lessie Mae Moorehead, six children Charles Ray, Vanessa (James), Bobby Ray, James (Mary), Patricia, and Julius, 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, and many loved ones.
